I rode more than I should have in a relatively short period of time. That said, I'm certainly glad I did that loop as it was diverse, varied and really beautiful. I have done a similar trip in Bolivia, but Peru really blew it away.
Top of the line equipment. I rode a 2012 GS BMW 800 that is really brand new. Tires had a lot of tread and the bike was perfect for this kind of trip. Panniers and top case were of superior quality too.
