BMW F750GS

BMW F750GS

Not everyone needs a gigantic adventure bike to have fun, and the BMW F750GS fills that niche of "big enough for the long haul, small enough to have fun." With a power-to-weight ratio similar to the bigger models, 77hp can be used to hang with any other adventure bike on the market and perhaps be even more fun when it comes to the dirt roads and tight switchbacks.

BMW F850GS

When it's predecessor launched in 2009, the world recognized the beauty of a "middle-weight" adventure bike, perhaps most appropriately built to handle it all. The new BMW F850GS builds on a decade of riders trotting the globe on a machine with all the power you could ever need, and agility to go have almost dirt-bike-like fun when the luggage and passenger aren't along for the ride.

BMW R1200GS Adventure (2014+ Liquid Cooled)

BMW R1200GS Adventure (2014+ Liquid Cooled)

Just a year after releasing the Liquid Cooled R1200GS, BMW's famous Adventure model or "GSA" was introduced, and for all the right reasons. Like its predecessor, the "GSA LC" as we tend to call it boasts 125 liquid cooled horsepower and has the fuel capacity and carrying capability to make the longest and most remote adventures a reality. At the same time, it's still a thrill when in tight mountain switchbacks and twisties!

BMW R1250GS

Freshly updated after multiple generations of industry-leading design, BMW's R1250GS is yet another masterpiece coming from the company that many will claim pioneered the thought of adventure riding. Boasting 136hp now, yet still maintaining the "flickability" many of us feel in the GS line, load up the bike or head out solo, and you're sure to have a blast from this high performance machine.

FAQS

Where can I pickup a motorcycle rental in South Africa?

At this time, our motorcycle rentals in South Africa are based in Cape Town, for which we use Cape Town International Airport (CPT.) Other locations in South Africa like Johannesburg and the rest of the region (including Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe) are possible pickup locations, but could include extra charges.

Where can I travel to on these motorcycle rentals?

The answer to this question depends on a few factors, like our motorcycle fleet availabitlity and the rest of the schedule. Special paperwork and authorizations need to be issued in order for you to cross borders with these bikes, so please inquire further about your options.

What is the best time of year for riding in Africa?

Much like anywhere in the world, seasonal weather patterns should be a consideration for your travels. For example, where we first started operating in Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, and South Africa, the optimal riding months are about September through April, with January and February representing the "middle of summer" and therefore the best (warmest/driest) weather. Other regions may have different timing, so please inquire with us further about where and when you'd like to make your trip.

What is the riding terrain like for Africa?

Such a huge continent full of so many great riding and exploration opportunities means virtually every type of riding surface is possible in Africa. Fully-paved routes, or itineraries with mixed sand, gravel, dirt, and other terrains for dual sport riders exist as well, and each of the route packages listed on our site will have a brief description of what you can expect on that trip. Remember: It's ultimately your responsibility to inquire with our Representative about what types of terrains you'll come across when discussing route options, and that Riders should never make their first attempt at riding off-pavement part of an international expedition! Make sure you're comfortable with such terrains at home, first.
