Motorcycle rentals in Peru, want something other than riding?

Written by Eric Lange | November 3, 2010

Exploring Peru on our motorcycle rentals sure is great, but if you need a break from your bike, in the far northwest corner of the country is the great little beach town of Máncora.  With plenty of great beachfront hotel options, those of us who like the smaller beach towns with some breathing room will really enjoy this one.

Máncora is gaining popularity, most notably in the world of kitesurfing due to its incredible weather and very consistent wind offering for about half of the year (best is June through November.)

Excellent kitesurfing instruction is offered through an energetic Australian named Skip, who is well-known throughout Máncora at this point. Contact Skip at perukitecamp@hotmail.com, website www.perukitecamp.com.  He's more interested in seeing students learn and have fun than dragging out the teaching process, and could have you up and riding successfully after just a couple of short sessions.

Máncora, like the rest of Peru has no shortage of great restaurants, arts & crafts shopping, and night life options. (A great hotel option is the Eco Lodge, "Casa Mediterranea," and don't leave without trying one of the amazing tuna dishes at "La Sirena" on the main street in town.) Take at least a few days if you can and enjoy all it has to offer, then get back on your bike to continue your motorcycle rental in Peru!
