Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Your Himalayan adventure begins with your morning arrival at Kathmandu International Airport (4,445 ft).
We will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to our boutique hotel in downtown Kathmandu, a perfect location for exploring on foot.
Day 2: Flight to Pokhara, Bike Prep & Welcome Ceremony
Today features a scenic 30-minute domestic flight to Pokhara. Upon arrival, you'll have the option to sightsee around town.
The afternoon will be dedicated to a thorough bike check and a welcome ceremony, ensuring all riders are prepared for the journey ahead.
Shortly after, we will have dinner at a lakeside restaurant and have a quick chat about safety while riding in Nepal.
Day 3: Pokhara to Bandipur
Today we'll embark on a 110km journey, riding through many remote Nepali villages.
This day's terrain involves traversing Pokhara's longest suspension bridge, with approximately 60% off-road sections and 10% single track, including exhilarating river crossings and a ride through the jungle outside Pokhara.
The RIDE then continues to a historical and cultural village in the mountains called Bandipur. Once a bustling trade hub where ancestors brought goods from Tibet and exchanged salt and other items from the South.
Day 4: Bandipur to Chitwan
We'll start the day on the Nepali highway, which promises an authentic experience of Nepal's bustling sounds, crowds, and delightful chaos.
Once closer to Chitwan, we'll pass through Nepali cultural areas and remote, traditional southern villages.
The day includes an exhilarating off-road jungle ride and riverbank trails, offering a 50/50 mix of terrain as you pass through Chitwan National Park, with a chance you might spot a Bengal tiger.
After our ride, you'll settle into a comfortable resort hotel with a swimming pool and views of the river and jungle.
After a bit of rest we will meet for dinner with a local Tharu friend for a local treat and then you'll experience a vibrant Southern cultural program presented by the Tharu people.
Day 5: Chitwan National Park Safari (Rest Day)
This rest day is dedicated to exploring the magnificent Chitwan National Park.
The highlight is a thrilling jeep safari and boat ride, offering the opportunity to spot incredible wildlife, including one-horned Rhinoceroses, Bengal Tigers, Elephants, Gharial crocodiles, and various species of deer and birds.
An optional canoe or additional boat tour is also available for those wishing to explore more of the park's waterways. Otherwise, this will be a perfect day to relax poolside and enjoy the sounds of the jungle.
Day 6: Chitwan to Pokhara
After breakfast, you'll begin the 170km journey back to Pokhara, taking a scenic off-road route.
The terrain for this day includes approximately 40km of highway riding, followed by various Nepali side loops with challenging hill climbs, single trails, deep canyon rides, and exhilarating water crossings and riverbank rides.
There's also an option for a refreshing river swim if desired.
Day 7: Exploring Pokhara & Visit to local Orphanage (Rest Day)
Today is a non-riding day dedicated to community engagement and local exploration in Pokhara.
Your day begins early with sunrise and breakfast at Sarankot, offering spectacular views of the Himalayas.
Afterward, you'll visit a street children's orphanage, a recycling plant, a local cave, and a beautiful waterfall, gaining insight into local life and community initiatives.
Day 8: Pokhara to Tatopani
Today marks the beginning of your climb to higher elevations as you ride 115km from Pokhara (2,697 ft) to Tatopani (3,937 ft).
You'll cross Nepal's longest suspension bridge before reaching your hotel in Tatopani, where you can relax in the natural hot springs. Welcome to the gateway to the Himalayas!
Day 9: Tatopani to Kagbeni
Following breakfast at your Tatopani hotel, prepare for a significant ascent from 3,937 ft up to 9,186 ft (and potentially reaching lookouts up to 14,000 ft).
You'll ride through the world's deepest gorge, pass Rupasy Waterfall, and take a refreshing "Titilake break," experiencing the local way of life with a tea break with a Tibetan family.
The ride offers stunning views as you traverse between Mt. Dhaulagiri (26,795 ft) and Annapurna (26,545 ft).
We'll then descend into Kagbeni, which is where you'll find our specially selected tavern hotel in a small mountain town. This tavern is known for its yak burger, and we highly recommend you try it.
Day 10: Kagbeni to Lo Manthang
Today, you enter the mystical "Forbidden Kingdom" of Upper Mustang. After breakfast at your Kagbeni hotel, you'll gain more altitude, climbing from 9,199 ft to a high point of 14,764 ft.
We will RIDE into the forbidden kingdom with its dramatic high-altitude desert of Lo Manthang, where you'll visit one of the oldest Buddhist Monasteries in the area, recently found to be from the 15th century.
The day's highlights include reaching elevations as high as 16,404 ft and sleeping at 12,598 ft. You'll ride through various passes to get to Upper Mustang, surrounded by huge and unique rock formations.
We will have oxygen tanks and a doctor available in case of altitude sickness.
Day 11: Upper Mustang Exploration
Today is dedicated to exploring the incredible surroundings of Upper Mustang.
After breakfast at the hotel, you'll RIDE to ancient caves where Tibetan people used to live, then to the world's highest golf course, and explore remarkable Buddhist monasteries carved into the side of mountains.
We'll be riding high-desert open landscapes with unique geological formations, truly feeling like we're riding on Mars.
Day 12: Upper Mustang to Kagbeni
Today, you'll begin your descent from Upper Mustang back to Kagbeni (9,186 ft).
The highlights include descending the vast high desert of Upper Mustang and following a massive river that originates from the foothills of the Himalayas.
You'll stay in comfortable mountain accommodation in a small town and have an opportunity to put down another yak burger!
Day 13: Kagbeni to Poon Hill
After breakfast at your hotel in Kagbeni, you'll explore the exhilarating side loops of Lower Mustang before riding towards Poon Hill.
Lunch will be enjoyed at a hot spring. Key highlights and terrain notes include traversing the Lubra Pass with its thrilling single trails, stopping at a scenic alpine lake with stunning views of the Nilgiri and Annapurna ranges.
The day culminates in beautiful, uphill switchbacks leading to your hotel, with optional side loops that reveal more fun trails and breathtaking mountain views.
Day 14: Poon Hill to Pokhara
An early start awaits on your final full day of the tour. You'll wake up at 5 AM for a 45-minute hike to Poon Hill.
Coffee in hand, you'll witness a spectacular sunrise at an altitude of 9,383 ft, with an 8,000m (26,247 ft) peak appearing directly in front of your eyes.
After soaking in the awe-inspiring views, you'll head back to the hotel for breakfast. The ride then continues back to Pokhara, marking the end of an incredible riding adventure with a celebratory dinner along the lake.
Day 15: Flight to Kathmandu (w/ City Exploration)
Today, we'll take a morning flight from Pokhara (2,697 ft) to Kathmandu (4,445 ft).
In Kathmandu, you'll have the option to sightsee with our lead guide, visiting iconic sites like Pashupati Temple and Boudhanath Monastery, which are a must-see when in Kathmandu.
Day 16: Departure Day
Stay a few more days if you'd like; however, if you must go, our staff will be ready to take you to the airport before your scheduled departure time.
