Adventure Riders, Have You Seen Pivot Pegz?

Since riding his KTM 950 Adventure down to South America in 2008 and launching RIDE Adventures in 2010, Eric now resides in Oregon for most of each year. Riding is still a regular part of his work though, in that guiding tours is a passion he'll always have, and researching new routes and regions allows RIDE Adventures to continue growing and providing reliable travel services to adventure minded riders and travelers from around the world.

Pillaging through the vast display of motorcycle accessories at the Dealer Expo in Indianapolis, I discovered a great product called Pivot Pegz and saw first hand how they work to keep your feet in more consistent contact with the motorcycle.

For the most part, our feet are “planted” on our foot pegs while riding, but any rider changing from standing to sitting positions frequently is also changing their foot angle on what is otherwise a stationary surface (the foot pegs.)  If your feet are changing position, what happens with your contact and grip there?

Enter Pivot Pegz, and check out how their design allows the flat surface of the footpeg to rotate with the constantly changing angle of your feet while riding (see video in action):

Makes perfect sense right?  Why sometimes ride with only a portion of your boot connected to the foot peg when you could always have full contact?  Success and safety while riding isn’t just about talent, courage, or skill; it’s also about how well we are connected to our motorcycles, and the feedback and sensations coming back up to us from the ground beneath.

A great product that makes sense?  Certainly worth checking out in preparation of your next riding adventure or race, as you can imagine as well how much extra comfort will come with always having the full surface of the foot peg beneath your foot.  With any luck, motorcycle rentals will be coming with a product like this standard soon!
