Motorcycle Tours are changing, pavement is coming in...

Since riding his KTM 950 Adventure down to South America in 2008 and launching RIDE Adventures in 2010, Eric now resides in Oregon for most of each year. Riding is still a regular part of his work though, in that guiding tours is a passion he'll always have, and researching new routes and regions allows RIDE Adventures to continue growing and providing reliable travel services to adventure minded riders and travelers from around the world.

Bolivia motorcycle ride

Motorcycle riders everywhere are enthusiastic about opportunities to enjoy some great off road dirt riding.  If this is the case for you, hurry up….

Everywhere in the world, governments and municipalities are driven to see infrastructures grow, “paving” the way for more tourism revenues (and other ancillary reasons of course.)  What this means to adventure-minded motorcycle riders though is that “enchantment” that comes with natural, unpaved terrain is disappearing before our eyes.  (If you can read the Spanish, see this article about paving the famous Carretera Austral, one of many highlights on Patagonia rides.)

The seemingly endless collection of dirt trails and roads are just one reason why South America is becoming such a favorite for motorcycle expeditions.  Incredible scenery found along the Andes Mountains, from Colombia through Bolivia and down to Tierra del Fuego is another important reason as well, but getting ourselves away from the man-made world is what so many of us are after.

Point being:  Don’t wait.  Don’t wait any longer than you have to for planning that next adventure, be it in Colorado, Colombia, Bolivia, or South Africa.  While we as adventure travelers strive to “take only photographs, and leave only tire and footprints,” the opportunities remaining to do so are becoming more scarce every year.

As always, contact RIDE Adventures for motorcycle tours in Patagonia, motorbike rentals in Colombia, or amazing expeditions in Bolivia.  We’ll make sure you don’t miss one of these special opportunities before it’s too late!
