Since riding his KTM 950 Adventure down to South America in 2008 and launching RIDE Adventures in 2010, Eric now resides in Oregon for most of each year. Riding is still a regular part of his work though, in that guiding tours is a passion he'll always have, and researching new routes and regions allows RIDE Adventures to continue growing and providing reliable travel services to adventure minded riders and travelers from around the world.

RIDE Patagonia to UshuaiaImagine all those great areas and more we can't even explain to you in one incredible South American motorcycle adventure tour!

As most other motorcycle tours are already sold out for the 2012/13 season, we've announced "Patagonia, Tierra del Fuego, & Ushuaia" as one more adventure tour possibility for riders to experience some of the best terrain for BMW GS motorcycles anywhere in the world.  This 16-day excursion mixes paved riding on stretches of "Ruta 40" with some of the great dirt, sand, and mud riding found on the Carretera Austral.  Be sure to talk with us about your riding background and let's be sure you're fit for such a ride.  There will be some long days with challenging Patagonia winds, and all the aforementioned terrain, so it's definitely not for everyone.

On the other hand, the beauty of a motorcycle tour package like this one is that it includes a support vehicle for carrying our luggage and a motorcycle if someone needs to take a break from riding.  We'll make use of those long daylight hours in the month of January, having just missed the December sunsets in Ushuaia that are as late as 10:13pm!  Such extremes are typical to this area, as it's only about 700 miles from Antarctica.

Speaking of Antarctica: If anyone wants to bolt on a flight or cruise to the icy frozen tundra after your trip, please feel free to inquire with us about that as well.  You'll be so close, might as well go.  How many times will you be that close again?  Ushuaia is the closest point on any continent to Antarctica.
